Holy crap, the Baltimore Orioles are on the cover of Sports Illustrated this week! The issue is dedicated to the Baltimore / Washington region, labeled “The Unlikely Sports Capital.” It includes an amazing feature by David Simon on the Orioles, a profile of Davey Johnson by Tom Verducci, and even highlights RG3. You can see the full cover below :

This marks just the second time in recent history that the Orioles have been featured on the cover. The last such instance came when Matt Wieters made his debut with the team back in 2010  :

There is also this sweet cover for Cal Ripken when he was inducted into the Hall of Fame, but it appears to be a special issue :
